Back to the drawing board

Bacchus Marsh is a pretty little spot and I'd live there in the blink of an eye, however the rental properties that are available are rather expensive considering the quality of the property. For that amount I can get a new property around Tarneit etc...of course Tarneit is not Bacchus Marsh but Tarneit area has a lot to offer in that I have less travel to work.

So I am back looking at West side...and am lining up an inspection of a house in Wyndham Vale. It's cheaper than other ones we've been looking at - is $200pwk - 3bedrooms.

I had a look at the Grammar school in Bacchus Marsh and was relieved to discover they have places available at Years 8 and 10 next year.

Oh well...better go shower and get ready for work.

Moving

Well I am off to Bacchus Marsh today to see what rental properties they have there and to get an idea of what the market is like. I kind of like the idea of moving to Bacchus marsh more than I like the idea of moving to Tarneit/Wyndham Vale area...I think because it's more rural there...plus also because I have good friends in Bacchus Marsh. And there's the train line. There's a good school there for the girls too - Bacchus marsh Grammar - and I am going to drop in there as well and see if they have any places available for next year. I hope so. If we move to Bacchus Marsh it will only be temporary - I'd like to build in the Tarneit area in the next year or so.

And the commute from Bacchus Marsh to work should be heaps better/quicker compared to the current long distance journey!

Library learning

Well here I am again. Monday afternoon - 2.34pm to be precise - and I'm about to head off to Newport Library for a couple of hrs.

So far life as a library assistant has been enjoyable. I've made lots of mistakes but they're getting fewer and farther between now...and I'm learning lots and hopefully should have the hang of it soon. Cant' wait till I know this job inside out. It's the first job I've ever had that I look forward to going to...that's a really nice feeling and I have a feeling I'll feel the same about it in years to come. What a great job and what a great place to work :)

Oh well...better get ready for Newport.

Intro

Well here it is. First entry of my webolution blog. Not sure what to write (is it to be library related? I hope not!) but am writing anyway - I figure if I keep typing something will come to me eventually - I hope!

Okay - so I'll start with why it's called 'Road to Bandiagara'. Many years ago I discovered via google and an interest in West Africa, a place called the Bandiagara escarpment. This is a large rocky escarpment situated in Mali and is home to the Dogon people. The area is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and for some reasons which I don't fully understand I would like to visit there one day. It's not my great life quest or anything - I just want to go there one day before I die. It's the kind of place you go not for a few days or a week - if I went there I'd plan on staying there a while...a couple of months perhaps. I intend to do it via Motorcycle - Africa nth to sth - but that's ages away and I've still got to learn to ride dirt and fix chains and broken water pumps and all that mechanical stuff one needds to do when travelling Africa nth to sth on a motorcycle.

To get to Bandiagara I have a fair bit of planning to do. Firstly the kids 'need' to leave home. I wont be kicking them out the door at 18 but I'll be encouraging them to go - asap...preferably. ;)

Lots of other factors determine my trip there - but they're not all that important and can be sorted out later - eg. time, money, work commitments etc.

Anyway, Bandiagara awaits but for now, Newport library awaits.
